FAQ's

Where does First Choice HomeCare Services, LLC operate?

Our agency provides services in the following Alabama counties: Jefferson and Shelby.

How can I trust your choice of a caregiver?

During the hiring process, we perform a strict examination of every prospective staff member. The procedure for screening includes a complete interview process, drug screening, a criminal background check, sex offender and elder abuse list checks.

Once the caregiver’s application is approved, we match the caregiver with the client for whom he/she is best suited. The caregiver is briefed on the unique needs of the client, and undergoes additional training if necessary.  Our caregivers are bonded and insured.

What if I am not happy with my caregiver or services?

We do our best to please our clients; however, we also understand that concerns are bound to arise from time to time, and resolutions begin with good relationships and open communication. With that said we encourage feedback and welcome any questions or complaints you may have. Our administrative staff is available during regular office hours to address any dissatisfaction and explain the complaint process. We are very concern about our clients, so be certain that we will work closely and cooperatively to resolve any problems.

How often do you bill?

We bill every two weeks.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept, check, cash, and credit cards. In addition, we accept Long Term Care insurance policies.  We also assist individuals in  qualifying for the VA Aid & Attendance benefit.

Do I always have the same caregiver?

If you are satisfied with a caregiver that was assigned to you, we will always make sure the same caregiver stays assigned to you. However, there may be circumstances where having the same caregiver is not possible. In such instances, we will find another match, whether temporarily or long-term.

What if I’m worried about having a stranger in my house?

It’s understandable that most people aren’t immediately comfortable with a stranger being in their home. Rest assured, every caregiver goes through a criminal background check.

Will the caregiver provide any help with medication?

Caregivers from First Choice HomeCare Services, LLC may NOT administer nor organize medication into a pill organizer.

Who supervises the caregiver?

Caregivers are supervised by the Staffing Coordinator, who makes periodic follow-up visits after the initial plan of service is established. In addition, management will periodically contact the client’s family when appropriate, to ensure service is satisfactory. We also check-in with our caregivers to ensure they are comfortable with their situation.
